What It Is – Straight Up
PrEP (Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis):
PrEP is a prescription medication taken before sex to prevent HIV infection. It works by building protective levels of medicine in your bloodstream, blocking the virus if you’re exposed. When taken daily, it reduces the risk of HIV by up to 99%. PrEP is discreet, easy to use, and ideal for anyone at ongoing risk — whether you’re in a new relationship, have multiple partners, or simply want extra peace of mind. It’s a proactive, stigma-free way to stay protected and confident.
PEP (Post-Exposure Prophylaxis):
PEP is an emergency treatment taken after a potential HIV exposure — such as a broken condom, unprotected encounter, or needle sharing. It prevents the virus from taking hold in your body if started within 72 hours (the sooner, the better) and continued daily for 28 days. Follow-up testing and support ensure full protection.
Why it matters:
HIV is no longer the death sentence it once was, but prevention is still key. PrEP and PEP are safe, effective, and empowering tools that help men protect their health, their partners, and their confidence.

Signs and Symptoms – When to Get Checked
You don’t need symptoms to start PrEP or PEP — both are preventive tools designed to protect you before or after potential exposure to HIV.
PrEP may be right for you if you:
Have sex without condoms, have multiple partners or casual encounters, have a partner living with HIV who isn’t on treatment or undetectable, use recreational drugs during sex (chemsex), or have recently been treated for another STI.
PEP may be needed if you:
Had condomless sex with someone whose HIV status is unknown or positive, shared injecting equipment, experienced sexual assault, or had a condom break during sex.
Urgent care:
PEP only works if started within 72 hours of exposure. If you think you’ve been exposed, seek help immediately — acting fast makes all the difference.
