Every Kiwi bloke knows the importance of a WOF for the car — but what about one for yourself? A Men’s Warrant of Fitness (WOF) is about making sure your body’s running smoothly, catching problems early, and keeping you on the road for the long haul.

Why a Men’s WOF Matters

  • Most serious health issues — like heart disease, diabetes, and prostate cancer don’t show symptoms early.

  • Regular checks can pick up problems before they become serious.

  • It’s not just about preventing illness — it’s about improving energy, sleep, sex drive, and quality of life.

What’s Included in a Men’s WOF

The Basics

  • Blood pressure, heart rate, weight, and waist measurement.  .

  • Lifestyle check: nutrition, alcohol, stress, sleep, and exercise.

Blood Tests

  • Heart health: cholesterol, triglycerides, HbA1c (diabetes check).

  • Hormones: testosterone, thyroid, cortisol.

  • Nutrients: vitamin D, iron, B12.

  • Liver and kidney function: especially if you drink regularly or use medications/supplements.

Age-Specific Checks

  • 20s–30s: STI testing, baseline bloods, mental health.

  • 40s–50s: prostate health, cardiovascular risk, sleep apnea screening.

  • 60+: bone health, cancer screening, medication reviews.

The Kiwi Context

Men in Aotearoa often ignore their health until something breaks. Māori and Pasifika men in particular face higher rates of preventable disease, making regular health checks even more important. A Men’s WOF flips the script — it’s about prevention, not repair.

How Often Should You Get One?

  • Every 2–3 years in your 20s and 30s.

  • Every 1–2 years from 40.

  • Annually if you have risk factors (overweight, smoker, family history of disease).

How Mr. Helps

At Mr., we’ve designed our Men’s WOF to be simple, discreet, and tailored to Kiwi men. Every patient starts with comprehensive blood, a review of lifestyle, and a kōrero about goals — whether that’s improving energy, sexual health, or long-term prevention. From there, we build a plan that’s realistic and doctor led.

Key Takeaways

  • A Men’s WOF is your personal health warrant — catching issues early and keeping you performing at your best.

  • Includes heart, hormones, sexual health, and lifestyle checks.

  • Frequency depends on age and risk, but regularity is key.

  • Mr. provides straightforward, no-nonsense WOFs to keep Kiwi men in top form.
